Skal Krabi Thailand

Krabi (Thailand) – August 3, 2015 (travelindex) – The newly-launched Skal International Club in Krabi, Thailand has been welcomed by the region’s Vice-Governor. Mr Narong Wonsiv was the principal guest of honour at a reception and dinner to celebrate the launch of Thailand’s seventh Skal club.Vice-Governor Wonsiv said he was confident that the formation of the new Skal club in Krabi would give a major boost to the region’s tourism.

Skal International Thailand President Dale Lawrence shared messages of congratulation from Salih Cene (President of Skal International worldwide) and the organisation’s Asia Area President Marco Battistotti. He added that it was an historic occasion for Skal in Thailand and he played tribute to the ‘fantastic efforts of the Local Organising Committee and Thailand’s International Councillor Brinley Waddell’. He reminded members and guests that the Skal flag had been flying proudly in Thailand since the launch of Skal International Bangkok in 1956.

Dale Lawrence then presented the club’s membership certificate to George Kenton, elected as Skal Krabi’s first President. The Skal Krabi Executive Committee also comprises Ivan Berthelot (VP); Mikko Kataja (VP); Jana Kenton (Secretary); Prapakorn Kaewprom (Treasurer) and Ingeborg Kristensen (Membership Development & Public Relations).

Skal International Krabi No. 721 was inaugurated on 29 July 2015 at a ceremony held at the Centara Anda Dhevi Resort & Spa in Ao Nang. The President and Executive Committee members will serve until the club’s AGM in March 2017.
