Pullman Luang Prabang Reveals State-Of-The-Art Facilities & Sustainable Event Solutions

Luang Prabang (Lao PDR) – May 28, 2019 (travelindex) – In the fast-paced modern world, it is becoming increasingly difficult for meeting planners to achieve their objectives. Stuffy indoor spaces and uninspiring sessions can be demotivating for delegates, and worse, events that are not eco-friendly can negatively impact the host’s reputation. Modern meeting planners can break free from the constraints of urban events and inspire their delegates with stunning scenery, world-class amenities and innovative experiences.

In the lush, jungle-clad hills of northern Laos however, one forward-thinking resort is allowing meeting planners to break free from their urban constraints and create truly exhilarating events that embrace the concepts of sustainability, responsibility and community.

On 23 May 2019, Pullman Luang Prabang hosted its inaugural MICE Meeting Showcase 2019, inviting industry professionals and members of the media to discover how it is successfully transforming the MICE experience for all types of group. The showcase was hosted at the Nam Khong Ballroom – the largest event space in Luang Prabang.

Following an introductory address by Denis Dupart, the resort’s general manager, guests were treated to a traditional Lao dance performance, a local cooking show by the resort’s Chef Sith, a “Mix It Up” bartender show and even a yoga class. Themed breaks embraced the natural ambience of Luang Prabang, including a fresh tropical fruit stand, an organic juice bar, a freshly-baked bread stall and healthy homemade cuisine.

This provided a demonstration of the diverse experiences Pullman Luang Prabang’s MICE team can tailor to the specific requirements of each group, creating exceptional events that live long in the memory.

“With our spectacular natural scenery, surrounded by verdant forests and rice paddies, Pullman Luang Prabang creates a captivating venue for corporate events. But no matter how attractive the destination, delegates will never be motivated if they spend too long stuck in a gloomy meeting room. That’s why we want to let meeting planners break down the boundaries and create events that showcase the beauty and culture of the destination,” said General Manager Denis Dupart.

“We are delighted to reveal our innovative event solutions at the MICE Meeting Showcase 2019. With our breath-taking setting, world-class facilities and inventive CSR-led experiences, Pullman Luang Prabang is bringing fresh thinking to the region’s MICE sector,” he added.

Event planners at Pullman Luang Prabang can choose from a series of flexible function spaces, including the 368 square metre Nam Khong Ballroom, the 116 square metre Nam Khan meeting room, and Le Salon, the intimate boardroom. This trio of venues creates options for events of all sizes, from three to three hundred delegates.

Complementing its state-of-the-art facilities, Pullman Luang Prabang’s onsite team can arrange a series of unique break-out sessions, including organic food stalls, massage corners and wellness breaks. The catering team can also create exceptional dining experiences at L’Atelier, the resort’s stylish restaurant, or outdoors amidst the landscaped gardens.

Importantly, the resort allows groups to connect with their local destination and give back to the community during their stay. Working with a series of responsible enterprises, CSR-led experiences include visits to women’s textile collective Ock Pop Tok, the Laos Buffalo Dairy Farm, Mandalao Elephant Conservation Camp, Saffron Coffee, Heuan Chan Heritage House, and Luang Prabang’s Traditional Arts & Ethnology Centre. Delegates can also give alms to Buddhist monks at a temple in Luang Prabang, tee off at Luang Prabang Golf Club or enjoy outdoor adventures in Nahm Dong Park, an eco-tourism haven. Back at the resort, guests can help with the rice planting and harvesting at the onsite paddy fields.

With such an extensive selection of activities available, all interwoven with the qualities of sustainability, responsibility and community, meeting planners will be able to inspire their delegates and achieve all their objectives at Pullman Luang Prabang.
